Market Resolution Rules
Resolution is the most important part of a prediction market. It's how we determine who wins.
How markets resolve
When a market's event occurs (or the expiry date passes):
- The outcome is checked against the resolution rules stated in the market
- The market is resolved as Yes or No
- Winning shares pay out ₱1 each, losing shares become worth ₱0
- Payouts are credited to your cash balance automatically
Resolution timing
- Markets resolve as soon as the outcome is confirmed, or at the stated expiry date
- There may be a short delay (a few minutes) between the event and settlement appearing in your balance
- For sports markets, resolution happens after the official final result
Resolution sources
Every market specifies its resolution source. Common examples:
| Market type | Resolution source | |---|---| | Politics | Official government announcements, COMELEC results | | Sports | Official league scores and results | | Crypto | On-chain data, CoinGecko/CMC prices at specified time | | Weather | PAGASA official data | | Entertainment | Official press releases, verified news sources |
What if the outcome is unclear?
In rare cases, a market's outcome may be ambiguous. When this happens:
- The Suri team reviews the situation against the stated resolution rules
- If a clear answer exists, the market resolves normally
- If truly ambiguous, the market may be voided — all shares are refunded at purchase price
Disputed resolutions
If you believe a market was resolved incorrectly:
- Contact support (Profile → Support)
- Include the market name and your reasoning
- The team will review and respond within 48 hours
We take resolution integrity seriously. If a mistake was made, we'll correct it.
Tips
- Always read the resolution rules before betting. Don't assume you know what counts as "winning."
- Check the source. If the market resolves based on a specific data feed or announcement, know where to look.
- Timing matters. "Will BTC hit $100K?" is different from "Will BTC be above $100K at midnight December 31?"
