Your First Bet

Ready to make your first prediction? Here's exactly how.

Before you start

Make sure you have funds in your Suri wallet. If you haven't deposited yet, see How to Deposit.

Step 1: Browse markets

From the home page, scroll through active markets or use the Search icon to find something interesting.

Markets are organized by category:

  • 🏛️ Politics
  • ⚽ Sports
  • 💰 Crypto
  • 🎬 Entertainment
  • 🌤️ Weather
  • 📰 News

Step 2: Pick a market

Tap on any market to see the details:

  • The question (what you're predicting)
  • The current probability (what the crowd thinks)
  • Resolution rules (how the outcome will be determined)
  • Expiry date (when the market closes)

Read the resolution rules carefully. This tells you exactly how the market decides who wins.

Step 3: Choose Yes or No

  • Think the event will happen? Tap Yes
  • Think it won't happen? Tap No

Step 4: Set your amount

Enter how much you want to bet (in PHP). The interface will show you:

  • Shares — how many shares you're buying
  • Average price — what you're paying per share
  • Potential payout — what you'll get if you're right

Step 5: Confirm

Tap Buy to place your bet. Done.

Step 6: Track it

Go to My Positions (Portfolio tab) to see your active bets, current value, and P&L.

Tips for your first bet

  • Start small — get comfortable with how it works before sizing up
  • Read resolution rules — a market titled "Will X happen?" might have specific conditions you'd miss
  • Check the probability — if Yes is at 95%, you're risking a lot to win very little
  • You can sell anytime — changed your mind? Sell your shares before the market resolves

Congratulations! You just made your first prediction. Welcome to Suri. 🎯
